New York Premiere of Joy Ride for solo piano by Amir Farid at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall on Farid’s Carnegie Hall debut concert.
Amir Farid, winner of the 2006 Australian National Piano Award, is a US born Iranian-Australian who resides in both New York City and Melbourne, Australia. The performance includes Schubert’s Sonata in B-flat Major, D. 960 as well as the US Premiere of Ice Man by Australian composer Stuart Greenbaum, which is a musical representation of the experience of Aussie adventurer James Scott who was stranded in the Himalayan mountains for 43 days and somehow survived.
